A new arrival in the Maverick family, the Silens2X Profile reaches the upper echelons of CRI performance and delivers exceptional beam quality, all while freeing itself from polluting acoustic emissions.
This evolution of the Silens 2 released a few years ago features a new white LED engine calibrated to deliver up to 760 W, but uniquely driven at 500 W. This technical choice provides greater long-term light stability, which naturally goes hand in hand with extended lifespan and improved thermal management.
Like its predecessor, the Silens 2X is equipped with a secondary 60 W RGB LED source integrated at the center of the main engine. This color addition allows for much greater light flexibility and facilitates green/magenta corrections, while also enhancing the quality of tungsten lamp emulation. As a result, the CRI is boosted to a value above 94, which is excellent.
The other major (if not primary) asset of this fixture is clearly stated in its name: silence. With no active cooling system, the only audible sound comes from the motors driving the optical modules and movement, topping out at just 36 dB. As soon as the Silens 2X becomes static, silence reigns supreme. Nevertheless, several operating modes are available to regulate and minimize noise as much as possible. This moving head is therefore intended for users for whom noise is a critical criterion such as theaters, opera houses, and TV or broadcast studios.
For light shaping, the fixture is equipped with a rotating framing shutter module with ±60° rotation, CMY color mixing plus CTO, and two gobo wheels, one of which features rotating patterns specifically designed for theatrical use. It is worth noting that both fixed and rotating gobos share the same format and are therefore interchangeable. Frost, an animation wheel, a rotating 5-facet prism, a zoom range of 5°–58°, and an iris complete the Silens 2X’s feature set.
Multiple control modes Art-Net, DMX, CRMX, RDM, sACN are available, with the number of DMX parameters ranging from 33 to 42. In terms of dimensions, the Silens 2X reaches a height of 80 cm with the head tilted up and weighs 34 kg.
