Italian manufacturer DTS has come up with a truly extraordinary machine. At first glance, it might be identified as a “scanner” – a fixture based on the principle of a motorized mirror – but defining it simply as such would be extremely reductive, as what it offers is so different from the “scanners” of the past. Thanks to its LASER source and onboard features, this machine is something of a UFO in the world of professional lighting. We are giving it an SLU Innovation Award.
We had the opportunity to test it in the small auditorium of L’Onde Théâtre in Vélizy, where we were welcomed by Technical Director Philippe Zielinski. We rigged six of them on a motorized truss. Let’s take a closer look at this strange creature..
