Kevin Northrup, lighting designer for Luke Combs, chose an array of Ayrton fixtures, MDG theONE™ and Atmosphere HO foggers/hazers and grandMA3 consoles for the singer-songwriter’s recent stadium tour of Australia and New Zealand.

Lighting and Scenic Designer Lukas Marian chose Claypaky Tambora Batten Squares and Sinfonya Profile 600 fixtures for the world premiere of "Oresteia.” The dance production by choreographers Frank Fannar Pedersen and Javier Rodriguez Cobos debuted with the St. Gallen Dance Company at the Konzert & Theater St. Gallen, Switzerland.

Amongst its many attractions is the big, bright and colourful Madagascar Circus Show, a musical extravaganza themed on the third in the children’s film series Madagascar. Bring on the dancing Robert Juliat Arthur followspot, an 800W LED powerhouse which answered all the fun-filled challenges the flamboyant circus show could throw at it!

Bob Schacherl – beloved friend, colleague, Robe Family member and professional entertainment lighting industry legend – sadly passed away this week, aged 70. Bob served as CEO of Robe Lighting Inc from 2013 until his retirement in 2019 and will be much missed by all in the Robe organization alongside those in the industry who had the privilege of working with him.

Cape Town-based Flicker-Free Lighting Rentals is an energetic new lighting rental and dry hire company headed by Jason Watts which is geared towards offering the region’s buoyant film, TV, commercial and event industry premium lighting solutions. Their seed investments included several Astera products – Titan Tubes, AX5 and AX9 LED PARS, LunaBulbs and HydraPanels.

Lighting designer and console operator Nicklas Dam, from rental and production company Explosion Danmark Light and Sound APS, is an Avolites user and fan.

Aligning a special 7-night cruise with the finale of the world-famous Sanremo Music Festival – which chooses Italy’s Eurovision pick each year – Costa Cruises and Carnival Maritime commissioned a massive lighting installation aboard its “Costa Toscana” ship which was moored approximately 1 kilometre out of Sanremo’s harbour for the Saturday night music extravaganza.
