DiGiCo reveals the best of everything
This year, DiGiCo celebrates 15 years of manufacturing exceptional digital mixing consoles. It has enjoyed phenomenal success, with the D5 Live establishing both the company and the concept of digital mixing. The SD Series followed, delivering a powerful new way of working, with the flagship SD7 becoming the market leader. In 2015, it launched the affordable S Series with a new, modern workflow. In 2016, it introduced Stealth Core 2 software, which multiplied the power of the SD range of consoles exponentially. Now, at the very beginning of 2017, it has unveiled Project Vulcan, the new SD12.
L-Acoustics is the Perfect Prescription for “The Cure Tour 2016”
Few bands are more immediately recognizable—visually and sonically—than The Cure, whose enduring career is now entering its fourth decade. London-based Britannia Row Productions has been with singer/guitarist Robert Smith and his mates for most of that time, since 1979, providing global touring support for the post-punk group, which is currently out on the road with an L-Acoustics K1/K2 system.

Zurich Openair sparkles to the design of Leo Hermann
The Zurich Openair Festival, which has existed since 2010, attracted more than 60,000 visitors this year to the festival grounds on the outskirts of Zurich. Leo Herrmann was responsible for the lighting design of the ‘Dance Circus stage with his design company Lumenlabor. The lighting designer had 20 X4 Bars in use.
Adamson Aids Sia in Redefining Performance Art
Port Perry, ON (December 2016) – Australian pop innovator Sia set numerous attendance records on her Nostalgic for the Present Tour, which crisscrossed North America during the fall of 2016 in promotion of her latest chart-topper, This Is Acting. The artist is continually redefining performance art and relied heavily on a full complement of Adamson E-Series loudspeakers to do so on her most recent run.
Alabama Shakes Up the Paléo Festival with Absen X5
With six days and nights of musical and artistic performances on six different stages, and 4,700 volunteers on duty to welcome 230,000 people, the Paléo Festival de Nyon is one of the most prominent and successful festivals in Europe.
Robe at the Epicenter of Signal Festival
Robe was a proud sponsor of the 2016 Signal Festival of Light, staged over four days in and around the beautiful and magical city of Prague in the Czech Republic. Twenty-three original and innovative pieces of light art drew estimated crowds of up to 400,000 into the city to enjoy the event which started in 2013, and is now recognised as one of the biggest as well as one of Europe’s foremost festivals of light. Robe provided 80 of their Pointe multi-functional moving lights and 40 ColorStrobes for an installation by Russian based collective Tundra.
Clay Paky Fixtures Illuminate Opening and Closing Ceremonies
World acclaimed lighting designer Durham Marenghi used over 850 automated fixtures from leading Italian entertainment lighting brand Clay Paky in his theatrical lighting design for this year’s Opening and Closing Ceremonies at the Rio Olympics, Brazil. Working to a very tight budget with limited weight loading for the roof Marenghi needed fixtures that were highly versatile and compact and that could produce a high output beam on minimal power consumption.
MDG’s Touring Commitments
Following a successful two-year run in London’s West End, The Commitments, directed by Caroline Jay Ranger, has taken to the road for the first time, carrying with it an MDG AtmosphereAPS haze generator. The 8-month tour will take in 26 venues across the UK and, for the first time ever, travel to its ‘home’ town of Dublin.
SGM lighting on RAGNAROCK Museum nominated for Danish Lighting Award
Ragnarock, the Danish museum for pop, rock and youth culture, opened its doors to the public in April 2016. The museum’s gold-studded facade, the red carpet runway and the lobby are exclusively equipped with SGM lighting fixtures and these installations have just been nominated for the prestigious Danish Lighting Award 2016.

Dimitri Vassiliu takes Ayrton WildSun™K25 on tour with French band LES INSUS
After playing France’s small/medium concert venues and festivals, French rock band LES INSUS, made up of former members of Telephone – Jean-Louis Aubert, Louis Bertignac et Richard Kolinka – completed their 2016 tour on the arena circuit. Their stage design featured ten Ayrton WildSun™K25 LED washlights, the large-scale white-light fixtures that were developed by the French manufacturer for creating a full daylight effect in stadiums and large venues, as an automated alternative to conventional HMI Fresnels.
Nexo STM amuses 200 000 on Italian tour
The first tour in Italy to use NEXO’s STM Series modular line array has enjoyed great success, with over 200,000 tickets sold. ‘Aldo Giovanni e Giacomo’ are three well-known Italian comic performers, currently celebrating the 25th anniversary of their comedy career. To service the extensive tour, the company invested in NEXO’s STM Series modular line array, purchasing the new omnipurpose STM M28 cabinet to use as the main module alongside B112 bass and S118 sub modules.
