CosmoPix-R is a small planet that rotates endlessly, throwing out punchy colored beams. Ayrton revisits a huge 80s hit with ten times the power and range. Making its debut at ProLight+Sound, CosmoPix-R will also be used in the light show designed by Laurent Chapot for the Aytron stand.
This video was posted on the Ayrton Facebook page and, again, we can’t resist the urge to learn more. CosmoPix is equipped with 12 large, 94 mm lenses, each coupled with a 60 W RGBW LED. The beams are tight (less than 5°), punchy (100 cd/lm) and independently controllable – all of this with continuous pan/tilt rotation and controlled in DMX-RDM, ArtNet or wireless, using a built-in Lumen Radio receiver. You can also just call up the programmed effect macros and let the light play solo.
How to cool twelve 60 W multichips closed in this sphere was not immediately obvious. Ayrton has developed a new individual source cooling system that ensures the removal of the heat from the LEDs around the outside of the optics. This system is patented.

Obviously, CosmoPix-R will do a great job at livening up the spaces in clubs, but one can imagine it being used in concerts, electronic music festivals and even variety shows. It just needs a certain volume around it in order to take advantage of the range of the beams.
