Chauvet Strike Array Ultra and COLORado PXL Curve 1: two original creations

At ISE 2026, the American brand unveiled a duo of new moving effect luminaires: the Strike Array Ultra blinder with a matrixable ring design, and the compact COLORado PXL Curve 1, both standing out for their originality. We met Laurent Ballarin, Chauvet’s Head of Sales in France, to take a closer look.

Strike Array Ultra

Power! That was truly the sensation I felt when the dimmer of the new Strike Array Ultra suddenly opened at full intensity straight into my retina as I approached the Chauvet booth! This blast of light came from the brand-new Strike Array Ultra, a next-generation blinder, of course powered by an LED source and packed with creative features.

Like the rest of the Strike Array range, this fixture is IP65-rated. It comes in the form of a large-format single-source blinder, the same size as the Strike Array 4 (itself equivalent to an FL2600).

At the center sits a very powerful RGB + White + Amber LED source. Surrounding it, a wide circular diffuser hides 120 small RGB LEDs, pixel-mappable. The combination of a point source with a circular effect is already effective in itself, but Chauvet pushed originality even further by mounting this source on a motorized axis.

Indeed, the light module of this blinder can rotate within its frame with a PAN movement of +/- 25°. This is particularly useful for angling the powerful output of this Ultra, which delivers close to 1 kW of power! And if you’d rather work with tilt (since only one axis is motorized), simply install the fixture at 90° using one of its many mounting accessories.

Hardly recovered from the previous shock, my curiosity was immediately piqued by some funny little machines dancing just next to it and for good reason! Here we are in front of two COLORado PXL Curve 1 units, IP65-rated fixtures in a completely new format.
They combine the single-beam source of the PXL series with the TILT axis inherited from the Curve 12, while also adding PAN movement and more besides! The fixture features two parallel segments of white LEDs (160 SMD LEDs in CW/WW), divided into eight sections framing the rectangular light output typical of the PXL series.

Visually and technically original, the unit also includes a motorized zoom that controls the beam angle from 3° to 40°. The beam itself is produced by a 120 W RGBW LED, delivering up to 14,000 lux at 5 meters. The fixture offers 60° of PAN movement and 200° of TILT.
Two control modes are available for users; the most advanced one uses 45 DMX channels, accessible via wired XLR5, Art-Net and sACN through an Ethercon port. Finally, NFC is also on board, allowing access to the fixture’s settings and configuration directly from a smartphone.
