At last, Sennheiser introduces the D9000 series, digital wireless transmission system, with the EM 9046, « central unit » and its modular approach accepting up to 8 UHF receiving modules (to cover the 470-798 MHz band), SKM 9000 hand held microphones transmitters as well as SK 9000 pocket transmitters. This digital HF system offers two transmission modes to satisfy applications in different environmental conditions: HD for high definition and LR for long range. This last mode, adapted to very difficult conditions with a lot of interferences sources, uses a patented audio codec. This mode also offers extended transmission range.

Digital modulation avoids compression and expansion, mandatory in analog, and gives a very low noise floor, with great dynamic range and optimal audio bandwidth.                   The transmitters offer a 88MHz switching bandwidth. The SKM9000 is compatible with Evolution G3 and 2000 (KK 204 and 205 Neumann included) head series, but four new capsules have been specially designed, one being the MD 9235 dynamic cardioid head. The SK 9000 is housed in a light and robust magnesium enclosure and accepts all microphone types equipped with a three pin Lemo connector. It also accepts line and instruments levels.
