The production and rental company ATG Audiovisueel, based near Gorinchem in the Netherlands, provides comprehensive production solutions including audio, lighting, video, and staging for a wide range of professional live and event projects across the Netherlands and throughout Europe.

In 2025, the company decided to invest heavily in Astera products, explains Harmen Daniels, Operations Director. Initially, they added 64 Titan Tubes, 16 Hyperion Tubes, and 24 Helios Tubes to their rental inventory, and they have just placed an order for 72 QuikSpots and 64 QuikPunches.

“We had had our eye on this brand for some time,” explains Harmen. “Our core business is event production, and we noticed the popularity of Astera tubes in this sector, where they have become a true ‘industry standard’.”
After speaking with many lighting designers and technicians already using Astera, Harmen and his team concluded that these products were “robust, high-quality, and very easy to use.” They therefore decided to invest and quickly found that the tubes were in high demand for all types of ATG projects.

Shortly afterward, guided by Controllux, Astera’s distributor in the Benelux, they began to take an interest in Astera’s recently launched products, notably the QuikSpot and the QuikPunch, which they saw as ideal tools to replace their aging battery powered fixtures, which were around ten years old. As Harmen noted, “LED and wireless technologies for the live events sector have advanced considerably” over that period.

QuikSpot is a battery powered spotlight launched by Astera in 2025, featuring a precise zoomable Fresnel lens with an adjustable beam angle from 13 to 60 degrees while also being a versatile and compact fixture.
QuikPunch is also a wireless spotlight equipped with a Fresnel lens and additional output, delivering an impressive 8,000 lux at 3 meters while consuming only 75 W equivalent to a 650 W fixture.

Harmen admitted that they had also considered other alternatives, but that the QuikSpot and QuikPunch “clearly seemed the best on the market” in terms of power and versatility, something that was later confirmed by on site testing. This led to an order of 72 QuikSpots and 64 QuikPunches telling figures that underline ATG’s commitment to Astera and their understanding of the added value these products will bring to all their clients.

Harmen emphasized that the unique feature of the QuikSpot and QuikPunch the quality of their Fresnel lens was a decisive factor in their choice, as these fixtures can be used to light virtually anything, from performers on stage to building façades, trees and foliage, interiors, sets, and more. “These products are extremely adaptable. That suits us perfectly, and so far they have been fantastic!”

Both fixtures have been used on numerous shows and events and have been a great success with the ATG team, Harmen reports. They appreciate the Astera app for essential control, and once you master its features and those of the Astera ecosystem, it is “great to use and straightforward, with all fixtures sharing the same menu system.”

He also mentions Astera’s broadcast and camera friendly features, which further enhance their appeal, as almost all events involve some form of recording or live streaming. In addition, they appreciate all the accessories supplied with the products: “The systems are smart and well thought out, with elements such as removable barn doors and the angle indicator on the QuikPunch clearly designed by people who work in the field!”

Beyond their own experience, ATG has received a great deal of positive feedback from lighting designers regarding the QuikSpot and QuikPunch. Harmen concludes by emphasizing that after sales service and support are another key part of the investment equation, highlighting their 25 year relationship with Controllux as a strong foundation for this partnership, both now and in the future.
