Until now, “The Projectors” – the band of superheroes from the latest Clay Paky marketing material – lacked a true spot fixture in the line-up. Scenius is positioned at the top of the range and employs a new 1400 W Osram arc lamp of the latest generation.
Advantages : a CRI of 96, a luminous flux of 20% to 30% higher than the previous 1500 W, a zoom ratio of 1:7 and a magnificent beam.
Scenius can meet the requirements of any application, from large concert halls to television studios, with its wide zoom range (8°-55°), the smooth and precise movements of which can be used as a separate effect, and a focus that can be set in automatic mode, as required.
The lamp has a color temperature of 6000 K that Osram ensures will not drift over time, thus reducing calibration time, What’s more, it offers a high color rendering index for a discharge lamp, reaching 95. It will operate at full power or in power saving mode at 1200 W.
To color the beam, Scenius includes a CMY mixing system, a wheel with seven colors and a progressive CTO filter. To animate it there are two wheels with six rotating, dichroic glass gobos each, a prism and an animation wheel.
This wheel can be used together with a gobo, with partial insertion and adjustable speed. An iris and a new variable frost are also incorporated.
Scenius is unquestionably a beautiful and powerful tool for big shows, with a first-class optical system that puts out a full, uniform beam and ensures hard-edged aerial gobos, a precise focus and a very quick, wide-range zoom.
It will be available during the 2nd half of 2015.
