At Prolight+Sound 2025, Claypaky revealed the Tambora Stormy Linear and Tambora Glare, a double Volero called Twins, and a cutting-edge Fresnel named Actoris by ADB. Dylan De Mateo presents these in detail in this video.

Tambora Stormy Linear and Tambora Glare

The Tambora range is expanding with two new LED bar fixtures, both with the same dimensions (100x13x10cm) and weighing 14 kg. Here’s what they have in common: these two effect fixtures feature two parallel rows of white pixels dedicated to strobe and pixel effects.
Two distinct lines made up of 125 x 1W SMD LEDs, mixing warm and cool white. The LEDs are divided into 25 independently controllable segments. They don’t produce a beam but offer a wide 120° angle to properly deliver a blinding effect. These fixtures are part of the Shield family, meaning they are IP66-rated. Claypaky also offers a series of various frost filters to place in front of the sources.

As for the differences: the Tambora Stormy Linear features a large central row of direct-view RGB SMD LEDs, forming a 25-pixel matrix. This allows it to create a wide range of effects, from subtle to intensely blinding and impactful (its name is likely no coincidence!).

The Tambora Glare version, on the other hand, is equipped with 10 collimated 50W RGBA LED pixels in its center. This makes it the only one of the two capable of producing a beam effect, with each source opening at 22°.

It’s time for beams with the Tambora Glare.

Volero Twins

The Volero Twins is a combination of two Volero Cubes. The result is a fixture with eight main sources separated into two rows of four 60W RGBW LEDs whose beam can vary from 3.8 to 45° thanks to a motorized zoom.

The Volero Twins, despite its open-frame head, will be water-resistant!

The light sources are separated by a line of cool white SMD LEDs to add a touch of extra effects: Strobe or pixel mapping. The fixture, rated IP66, is also capable of infinite pan rotations via a continuous PAN setting.

Actoris Fresnel by ADB

The Actoris Fresnel joins the more “theater” oriented range from ADB, a static, high-end, and very nicely built fixture, whose keywords are precision and versatility.

The new ADB for this spring of 2025, is the Actoris, a latest-generation LED Fresnel.

It features a new 370W LED engine with six LED colors – RGB + Amber + Lime + Royal Blue – specifically designed to generate a very wide color palette, particularly in the very low and very high wavelengths, meaning in the red and blue spectrums. It naturally joins the ADB “Multispectral” family.
And the numbers seem to confirm its performance! The device can achieve a CRI of 97, a result that’s close to perfection! ADB also claims exemplary color temperature management; the variable white can precisely oscillate between 2500 K and 10000 K.

Numerous settings are available, such as a minus green control, a 24-bit tungsten-emulating dimmer, several color control modes, and calibration. To top it all off, the Actoris Fresnel has a motorized zoom that can open as wide as 60° or narrow down to 10°.
