Robert Juliat’s award-winning Dalis 860 cyclorama washlights were chosen by lighting designer Scott Zielinski, to light the backdrops for the inspired theatre production of Richard Sandaime, a co-production between the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre and the Singapore International Festival of Arts, which premiered at the Shizuoka Arts Theatre in Japan as part of its World Theatre Festival 2016.

ArcLight Cinemas has selected Meyer Sound cinema audio systems for three screens at new upscale multiplex theaters in Chicago, Illinois; Bethesda, Maryland; and Santa Monica, California. A fourth Meyer Sound system was installed earlier at ArcLight Cinemas’ La Jolla, California location.

This spring saw Jeff Lynne’s ELO return to the stage, performing a series of flawless shows in arenas around the UK, including four nights at London’s The O2. Fittingly - for the band has drawn musician’s from Gary Barlow’s band to complement Lynne and long-time ELO pianist Richard Tandy - Gary Bradshaw and Steve Lutely, who have both worked extensively with Barlow and Take That, sit at the Front of House and monitor positions respectively. Each of them is working with their console of choice, a DiGiCo SD7.

Just home from Rio where he designed the lighting for the 2016 Olympic opening and closing ceremonies, Durham Marenghi shared with us his reflections about the project, for which he brought a massive lineup of SGM lighting fixtures including P-2, P-5, Q-7 and G-1 Beams, supplied by Italian rental company Agorá.

The final live show by Kyosuke Himuro, one of Japan’s most successful pop singers, was an emotional experience for 50,000 Japanese pop fans, being the very last time that they would see the singer/songwriter on stage. Thanks to L-Acoustics KS28 subwoofers, the sold-out Tokyo Dome show was a fitting end to a distinguished live career.
